What's with the overdose of religion, mythology and spirituality on television these days.

It started with NDTV Imagine boldly using a weekday prime time slot for Ramayan. Encouraged by the ratings it received, and not to be outdone, 9x retaliated with Mahabharat on a similar time slot. Colors has taken the brave decision of launching with a thriller (Fear Factor) and mythology (Jai Shri Krishna) on weekday prime time slots - and, in fact, publicising them more than the soaps!
