Customer retention is going to become a crucial issue with cellular service providers very soon. A couple of days back,the ET front page spoke of number portability kicking in soon. Once it happens, it removes the single biggest barrier to changing service providers - the fact that the number does not need to change when changing services. No more structural bonding with customers. Its the financial and social bonds that are going to assume greater importance in keeping customers within the fold. |

Axis Bank showed this recently - and how! All of us noticed the city plastered with hoardings featuring twins - 'Everything is same - except the name' it said, telling us that UTI Bank is now Axis Bank. |
